Minister of Industry: Industry Not Want Unencumbered increase in TDL

Jakarta (AFP). Industry Minister MS Hidayat said the industry asked that the increase in electricity tariff (TDL) of 15 percent is not charged all the way into the sector.

"All industries use electricity, but (increase TDL) and gradually increase by a maximum of 15 percent I think still be tolerated," Hidayat said after attending a coordination meeting at CMEA office in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to him, the industry requested that the increase in TDL is not entirely charged in that sector but also charged to the consumer sector. Although absorption tends to be smaller, industry wants the middle class who subscribe to 900 watts power can also be subject to

Earlier, on Wednesday, the Government ensure price hike electricity tariff by 15 per cent to electricity users above 900 watts per January 1, 2013.

Director of Operations Java-Bali Electricity Company (PLN) Persero, Ngurah Adnyana said that electricity consumption is expected to fall as the New Year 2013.
