Jakarta (AFP). President Director of PT Garam (Persero), Achmad Budiono, calling national salt industry trade system is still chaotic. According to the national salt business is still controlled by the mafia.
"Salt is managed cartel, consequently the performance of the national salt hit the deck including PT Garam, allowed to live reluctant," said Achmad event Business Forum Fisheries in the Ministry of Marine Fisheries, Jakarta, Thursday (11/2).

As an illustration Achmad give examples of national salt needs 3.4 million tons during 2015. Of these needs, the local salt industry able to supply 3.1 million tons, meaning that only drawbacks berhisar's 300,000 tons.
In fact, Indonesia imported salt 2.1 million to 2.2 million tonnes of salt were used to meet the needs of the industry.
