Pelindo I Medan -PT targeting Port Kuala Tanjung in North Sumatra (North Sumatra) operating in early 2017. This port will be a Hub Port (Port liaison) in western Indonesia, particularly in the Malacca Strait.
Kuala Pelabuhan Tanjung mentioned would be the biggest in the Strait of Malacca, which has a density of shipping traffic and goods is very high.

Currently, the Port Kuala Tanjung in development stage. To get the optimal development concept, Pelindo I in cooperation with the Singapore-based international consultancy Roland Berger and also the Port of Rotterdam.
Discussion cooperation is carried out in a workshop hosted by Roland Berger in Central Office Pelindo I, Medan, on Friday (04/12/2015). The workshop was also to include the stakeholders and strategic partners.
Planning and Development Director of Pelindo I, Iman A Sulaiman said that Pelindo I need feedback and suggestions from the industry, especially in the area of North Sumatra.
