JAKARTA - The government is setting up a scenario rising prices of premium gasoline and diesel fuel subsidies for private cars from Rp4.500-7,000 to 6,500 per liter starting in May 2013.

Minister Jero Wacik fuel policy after meeting with all governors in Jakarta, said it was still finalizing the planned increase in fuel prices imposed on the private car. "Just wait. Date have been prepared," he said yesterday.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to announce the policy option of subsidized fuel to be run.

According to Jero, if the increase in fuel prices for private cars be applied starting in May 2013, it acquired the fuel subsidy savings could Rp21 trillion.

He also said that almost all governors approved a plan that would take the government option. "That pursed 6,500 per liter for black plate car. Fact, there are some governors who requested directly to the economic price. Means that it has agreed to increase options," he said.

 According to him, the principle fuel policy to be taken is to shift 77 percent of the fuel subsidy which is now misplaced.

The Government, he added, will prepare carefully for the implementation of policies in the field running smoothly.

Previously, Director of Downstream Regulatory Body Fuel Oil and Gas Siswanto Djoko said, as many as 55 percent of about 5,000 gas stations across Indonesia that there will sell at a price premium subsidies 6,500 per liter. Meanwhile, 45 percent of the remainder will sell for $ 6,500 premium per liter.

For diesel, the scenario is 90 percent of gas stations will sell at prices 10 percent Rp4.500 and sell 6,500 per liter.

In addition, there are 34 stations that will sell price Rp4.500 and 6,500 per liter, because there is only one in the area.

For gas stations that sell at a price premium Rp4.500 will reach 55 percent of the total of about 5,000 units that exist in Indonesia and 45 percent were selling 6,500 per liter.

"Meanwhile, for diesel, no gas stations selling 90 percent to 10 percent price Rp4.500 and other selling 6,500 per liter," he said.

Djoko also said, there are 34 stations that will sell price Rp4.500 and 6,500 per liter, because there is only one in the area.

Government plans to increase fuel prices subsidized Premium and diesel for private cars with an estimated price of 6,500 per liter starting in May 2013.

Currently, the government is still finalizing the plan to increase fuel prices and will be announced by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the near future.
